Paris and Unicorns

Managed a trip to Paris at the weekend, in between all the Christmas chaos (Garudio Studiage are doing the window displays for Paul Smith in Floral St London, so there is much painting and glittering to be done, among the usual getting ready for selling at fairs etc!), and had a bit of a unicorn themed trip. After my unicorn themed exhibition a couple of years ago - A Unicorn Compendium, I did a bit of research on unicorn art, including 'The Lady and the Unicorn' tapestries at the Cluny Museum in Paris, so finally got to visit them - 6 giant tapestries based on the 6 senses. They were stunning, the amount of work that must have gone into each piece is inspirational. Also included in the museum was a 'unicorn horn' , a narwhals tooth, which was often mistaken for unicorn horns! Then bizarrely I saw 2 more 'unicorn horns' , one at the Museum of Hunting and Nature, and one at the musee de arts decoratifs! We were supposed to go to another museum which apparently also had one, but unfortunately it was closed, so only saw 3 unicorn horns in 2 days, oh well....
